What is sports massage?

Sports massage is a form of massage aimed at athletes. It is used to help prevent injuries, to prepare the body for athletic activity and maintain it in optimal condition, and to help you the athlete recover from workouts and competitions. ​

Types of sports massage

- Pre-event sport massage just before an event. It's purpose is to prepare you physically and mentally for the game/competition. It lasts between 5-15 minutes. ​

- Inter-event sport massage is in between two events on the same day. It cools the body down from the previous event, and prepares the body for the next one. It lasts between 5-15 minutes. ​

- Post-event sport massage is part of your cool down promoting relaxation and recuperation. It lasts between 10-15 minutes. ​

- Restorative/training sport massage is regular massage therapy during your training period. It combines Swedish massage techniques with stretching and techniques to maintain and improve joint mobility. It focuses on injury prevention, and preserving and improving flexibility and joint mobility. It lasts between 40-60 minutes.
